Hello my wonderful viewers and welcome to the fully spoilery episode of Betty Adams overanalyzes for Kaiju NO. 8 Chapter 44. Wow, just wow. Almost with every new chapter, certifiably with every new major plot reveal I am floored by Matsumoto’s skill in writing. This creator is the master of story twists. When Matsumoto presents  a plot twist the reader usually genuinely feels both shocked, and at the same time fully aware that the twist could not have gone any other way. Mostly Matsumoto does this by hiding the major clues behind common shonen tropes. We get one of those in this chapter with the reveal of the previous captain of the second division.
