When working with a publisher like Malachite Quills Publishing the next step is apparently making a Bookstart video. So here I am learning the finer points of editing video clips and weaving them together into a coherent story line.
Fortunately I have backup. My little brother is quite the tech genius and has decided to use his powers for good instead of evil. So the video is coming together a bit more slowly than I might like but is is coming together.
Also there is even more paperwork. In my pre-published innocence I had thought that the verbal agreements I had with the artists, whom I trust completely, would be quite enough for the publishers. However they have a healthy level of paranoia and demanded, very politely of course, to see contracts.
Hunt down a contract form, edit it to fit, hunt down the artists, sometimes after years, get them to sign on the line, send the contract back to the publishers. On to next step.
