Hello my wonderful viewers and welcome to another episode of Betty Adams over-analyzes. Today we are looking at a case study in love and Joy. Okay, granted there is not the slightest hint of romance, or Eros, other than the fact that Miko comes from a large and loving family so there must have been some Eros in the back story. Anyway, Glitch Techs Season 1 Episode 7 or 8 (*sighs*) that double pilot, Collection Quest.
If the last two episodes were the essence of the fears we face in the real world this episode was a testament to love, joy, and pure unabashed, fearless fun. The first note that I noticed in this symphony of wholesomeness was joy. The characters are not just having a good time they are reveling in the kind of systemic whole body enjoyment of life that only comes from a joyful and grateful heart. Don’t get me wrong the creepy undertones of the past several episodes are still here but they are not the point of the episode. They are only the framing. Whatever kind of matrix like dystopia these kids live in they have found the eternal secret to being happy in every situation.
